Welcome to Writing Progress!
A new Substack designed to help you write, write, write.
It’s a new year, and you’re going to write more. Me too. Let’s do it together!
Here are the resources & formats I’m excited to create on this new Substack:
Mini Craft Essays
I’ve always somewhat formatted the newsletter along these lines, but now I can use Substack as a home base for these short and specific essays full of writing advice. I’m excited to build out the archive and be able to create a Table of Contents of all the writing resources here!
Audio Coffee Chats
Informal audio drops where I chat about a craft question, ways to break through writer’s block, and other advice for organizing a writer’s life and making progress. By the way, if you have specific writing questions on your mind right now — why don’t you let me know in the comments or by replying to this email?
Some ideas for paid subscribers…
Writing Diary: Day in the Life Entries
I am so excited to start this experiment with you all! I will tell you a bit more later this week, but these entries will be a behind the scenes look with timestamps on how I spend my writing days. Because I want to share even more details about my process, these will be just for paid subscribers. Spoiler — they’re all wildly different and involve more snacks and pacing around than you might think…yet somehow, the books get written!
Worksheets & Workbooks
I think I’ll call these ‘study dates,’ and create some simple, portable, printable worksheets that will walk you through the processes and organizational structures I use to keep writing. I hope they can be used when you bring a journal to a cafe, go to the library, or just take some reflective writing time at home.
